Ninfa Garcia is a singer and flautist born in Honduras. At the age of 12 she began flute studies in Escuela Nacional de Musica, Honduras. She would go on to receive her Bachelor’s degree at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras while also studying voice with Juan Jose Micheletti, where she graduated in Scala de Milan, Italy. In 2021 she began her Master in Flute Performance degree at Austin Peay University, which she finished this year. Garcia is also currently finishing her Master in Voice Performance with Dr. Min Sang Kim, who graduated from Julliard.
Ninfa’s performance highlights include participating as a soloist in Voces Aureae in Honduras, the Bel Sono Musical group in Honduras, and in many other events as a soloist in UNAH (Universidad Autonoma de Honduras). As a flute player, she has been principal in Orquesta Filarmonica de Honduras, Camerata Vivaldi (Nicaragua) and Festival Guaranda (Ecuador) Orquesta Sinfonica (Costa Rica). She stood out in the United States as a soloist by winning a concert competition at Austin Peay University in 2021, and also when she won the audition to play in the professional flute choir NFA (Chicago). Garcia’s career as an operatic singer is also blossoming due to her first prize in NATS in C11 category. She has taken Master classes with recognized professors including: Lisette Oropesa, Placido Domingo, Tadeo Coelho, Nicolle Esposito, Alexa Still and Jazmin Choi.
